Precision in practice: onion drilling demonstration in Poland with Korbanek
When it comes to establishing high value vegetable crops like onions, precision at drilling makes all the difference. Earlier this month, our partners at Korbanek hosted a live demonstration in Poland using the Stanhay X10 seeder, giving growers the opportunity to see accurate seed placement in real field conditions.
The result was a smooth, efficient operation that quickly moved from demonstration to completion, with the grower finishing the sowing just one day later.
A focused approach to onion establishment
On 9 April 2026, the Korbanek team carried out the onion drilling demonstration alongside their customer and colleagues. The objective was simple: deliver accurate, consistent seed placement across the field and show how the X10 performs under practical farm conditions.
The sowing parameters were set with precision in mind:
- 10 rows
- Row spacing of 15 cm
- Seeding rate of 750,000 seeds per hectare
- Sowing depth of 2.5 cm
These settings are typical of modern onion production, where uniformity and accuracy are key to achieving reliable crop establishment and downstream yield potential.

A well-matched machine setup
To support the drill, the team used an ARBOS P4110 tractor fitted with narrow tyres to minimise crop and soil disturbance. Guidance and monitoring were provided by an AllyNav AF303 system, featuring a 10.1 inch display and a single camera connected to one row of the drill.
This combination allowed the operator to maintain accurate guidance throughout the pass, helping ensure consistent row spacing and seed placement across the entire field.
From demonstration to real results
One of the most rewarding outcomes of the day was how quickly the operation translated into real progress. By the following day, the customer was already finishing the sowing work, demonstrating the efficiency and reliability of the setup in real conditions.
For us, this is where technology really proves its value. It is not just about how a machine performs in a demonstration, but how it supports growers when time, accuracy and crop establishment matter most.

Seeing the X10 in action
Live demonstrations like this are invaluable. They allow growers to see the performance of the Stanhay X10 in their own conditions, working with familiar equipment and real agronomic requirements.
The Korbanek team also captured video footage during the event, which will be shared soon on their YouTube channel. It will provide a closer look at the machine in operation and the setup used on the day.
A strong example of precision drilling in practice
This demonstration in Poland is a great example of how precision seeding technology can support efficient and accurate crop establishment. With the right combination of machinery, guidance and setup, growers can achieve consistent results that set the foundation for a successful season.
We would like to thank the team at Korbanek for organising and hosting the demonstration, and for sharing their insights and media from the day.
